Our Senior Source directory also includes information on local resources, healthcare, estate planning, housing, advance directives, and other matters of aging.

Meet Marianne

Marianne Seifert, our founder, has been working with seniors and older adults in the Redding community for over two decades. With a bachelor's degree in psychology, Marianne began her career as a social worker in a local skilled nursing facility. Her rewarding experience inspired her to create her own placement service, Marianne's Senior Placement Services, to assist seniors and their families through the process of selecting an appropriate assisted living or residential care facility.

What is Assisted Living?

Assisted living communities are home-like settings that offer 24-hour care and support for the daily needs of their residents. They are also referred to as Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) or Board & Cares. They are all licensed through the Department of Social Services and vary in size, services, and cost. Typical services provided by an assisted living community include laundry and housekeeping, ambulation, transportation to medical appointments, activities, socialization, care giving services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, three meals a day, medication monitoring, and personal care such as dressing and bathing assistance.
