As a licensed biblical counselor, I, Beth Hastings-LPC, have dedicated my life to helping individuals, couples, and families overcome the challenges they face. With a passion for Christ and a commitment to biblical principles, I provide professional counseling services that are grounded in truth and grace.
My Journey
My journey as a counselor began when I had the privilege of sitting across the kitchen table from my neighbor, Edie, who had recently lost her husband of fifty years. In that moment, I learned the importance of being present and really listening to someone as they shared their story. This experience reinforced my calling to counsel and prompted me to pursue further education and training.
I have earned my master's degree in counseling from Westminster Seminary (CCEF) in Philadelphia, PA, where I studied counseling, the Bible, and reformed theology. Additionally, I have completed training in advanced professional counseling at Biblical Seminary in Hatfield, PA, and have a certificate in marriage counseling from the Gottman Institute. My post-graduate work for licensure was completed at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in Nyack, NY.
My Approach
As a biblical counselor, I believe that God is the ultimate healer and that His presence is always available to individuals, regardless of their circumstances. My approach to counseling is rooted in biblical principles and is based on the understanding that we are all created in the image of God and can find restoration and transformation through a personal relationship with Him.
Services Offered
I offer a range of services, including:
- Anxiety Treatment: If anxiety is affecting your daily life and preventing you from living life to its fullest, I can help you identify and change negative thought patterns, relaxing your mind and body.
- Depression Treatment: If depression has taken over your life, I can help you find hope and find the strength to overcome the darkness.
- Marriage Counseling: If you're looking to revive and strengthen your marriage, I can help you and your partner communicate more effectively, rebuild intimacy, and create a stronger bond.
- Biblical Counseling: If you're seeking guidance on how to walk through a challenging season, I can provide biblical wisdom and support to help you navigate your circumstances.
Personal Life
In my spare time, I enjoy visiting gardens and museums, and I'm an avid gardener, often cultivating herbs to use in my cooking for family and friends. I'm also a member of the Garden Club of America and have been involved in the restoration of a National Historic Site.
Hope and Transformation
As I look back on my life, I'm reminded of the tapestry metaphor that Edith Schaeffer used to describe our Christian life. While the front of our tapestry may seem beautiful and intricate, the back of the tapestry is often a tangled mess of loose threads and knots. It's in those moments of struggle that God weaves His plan, using every experience to shape us into the people He created us to be.
Conclusion
If you're struggling, I invite you to take the first step towards relief. I'm committed to helping you find hope and transformation through truth and grace. Contact me at 973.464.2759 for a free 15-minute consultation.
