Empowering You to Live Your Best Life
At Black Pine Counseling Center, we are a purposefully and mindfully small practice dedicated to providing personable, high-quality service in everything from billing and scheduling to the therapy you are coming to us to receive. We understand that the choice to take that first step of entering therapy is a difficult one, and we admire the bravery it takes to enter and go through this process.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide individual and relationship/family mental health counseling (talk therapy) for people 7 years old and up who are struggling with the problems of daily life, anxiety, depression, anger management, and a wide range of other mental health challenges. We strive to deliver the highest quality of counseling to all of those we serve, and we continually work to be inclusive and accepting of all individuals regardless of gender, gender identity, age, race, health status, national origin, relationship status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, disability status, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion.
Our Services
We offer a range of mental health services, including individual and relationship/family counseling, to help you overcome the challenges you are facing. Our waiting room and offices are quiet and comfortable, and we will work with you to make them a safe place for you to explore the issues bringing you here. We believe that your life can improve, that it can be truly good. We are not satisfied with the goal of making life "as good as it used to be, " but only with "better than it ever has been before."
Our Commitment
We are committed to providing the highest quality of counseling to all of those we serve. We understand that change is hard, but we believe that it is worth it. We can help you find your way to a truly healthy life, and we look forward to meeting you. Please be sure to read our How To Choose A Therapist page, as well as our FAQ and about our Staff for more information.
Disappointment and Unfairness
Several reviewers have expressed disappointment and frustration with the service. Atiyah Lay gave a 1-star rating and mentioned that the service was great initially, but they had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances three times. Each time, they were penalized for canceling, which they felt was unfair. They also mentioned that no one reached out to offer online sessions or alternatives despite their cancellation. Moreover, the reviewer felt that the person handling the cancellation was annoyed and unhelpful.
Exceptional Care
On the other hand, several reviewers have praised the service, particularly the therapists. Amy Nixon gave a 5-star rating and praised Mark, her therapist, for helping her change as a person. She appreciated the coping skills she learned and the positive impact on her outlook on life. Carissa Duncan and Rebecca Rodgers also gave 5-star ratings, with Carissa appreciating the professional care she received, and Rebecca liking the therapist Donna Searle and the polite receptionist Meega.
