Our Story
At Division Wines, our journey began over three decades ago when two individuals crossed paths at a party. Despite plans to venture into separate parts of the world, fate had other plans. Our paths continued to intersect, as if the universe was asking, "Ready yet? How bout now?" We surrendered to our cosmic connection and embarked on a journey that would take us to the American Virgin Islands, where we worked in restaurants and crewed for a charter business. After a stint in Minneapolis, where we met and my family resided, we returned to Portland, raising two boys, cats, rats, fish, and watching the city grow. Portland is our home, and we adore this city, with its quirky nature, and exploring our neighborhood, which we never tire of.
Our Mission
In 2011, after over 30 years of working in restaurants, we opened a small wine shop, just a short walk from our home. Renowned for its unique character and warm atmosphere, our shop aimed to create a corner of the world that operated on our values: kindness, curiosity, and humor. It's a place where everyone is welcome, united by a love of wine and countless other commonalities. We fell deeply in love with our shop, and we hope you do too.
