Our Story
Peirano Estate Vineyards is a family-owned wine estate that has been deeply rooted in Lodi, California since its inception in 1879. Our history is a tale of resilience, perseverance, and dedication to our craft. Our founder, Giacomo Peirano, immigrated to the United States from Italy in search of a better life and a chance to strike it rich during the Gold Rush era. After recognizing the abundance of miners in the region and the lack of merchants, Giacomo opened a mercantile store, which proved to be an ingenious money-making venture. His wife, Maria, managed the store while Giacomo cultivated a passion for winemaking.
Our Vineyards
Early on, Giacomo recognized the importance of high-quality grapes and began cultivating Italian Zinfandel vines from his family's vineyard. With Maria's support, he planted over 75 acres of vineyards, which became the foundation of our estate. He tended to the vines with precision, pruning, and harvesting them by hand. His sons, Charles, William, George, Fred, and Frank, grew up helping their father in the vineyards, creating a family tradition that would last for generations.
