Welcome to Cho Cheung Wing Chun, a small, private training group dedicated to helping students develop themselves mentally and physically through the ancient art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging learning environment where students can improve their physical fitness, mental discipline, and self-confidence.

Our Program

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art that focuses on developing dynamic, explosive, and street-oriented practical self-defense skills. Our training program is designed to help students of all skill levels improve their physical and mental well-being. We emphasize the development of proper body alignment, sensitivity, and coordination to overcome opponents, rather than relying on muscular strength.

The History of Wing Chun

According to legend, Wing Chun was created by Ng Mui, a Shaolin nun, who lived approximately 300 years ago. After the destruction of the Shaolin temple by the Manchu government, Ng Mui traveled the country, refining and revising her martial arts skills to create a system that relied on speed, coordination, and economy of motion rather than strength or size. The art of Wing Chun was born, designed specifically for a small, frail woman like herself to effectively defend against a larger and stronger opponent.

Our Approach

At Cho Cheung Wing Chun, we take a holistic approach to martial arts training. We believe that the physical and mental aspects of Wing Chun are intertwined and that a strong foundation in technique and discipline is essential for success. Our instructors are dedicated to helping students of all levels improve their skills and achieve their goals.

Our Philosophy

At the heart of our philosophy is the concept of simplicity and economy of motion. We believe that Wing Chun is not just a physical activity, but a mental and spiritual practice that requires dedication, perseverance, and self-awareness. We encourage our students to focus on the simplicity of the art, rather than trying to master complex techniques.

Our Training Schedule

We offer training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Our classes are designed to accommodate students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
