Become the Change You Wish to See in the World
At Aikido Center Sacramento, we are dedicated to providing a supportive, non-competitive, and non-violent environment for individuals of all ages to cultivate their body, mind, and spirit through the art of Aikido. Our mission is to serve our community by promoting a culture of respect, gratitude, and awareness, and to inspire individuals to become a positive force for change in the world.
Our Philosophy
Aikido is more than just a physical activity; it's a way of life. Our philosophy is rooted in the teachings of Aikido's founder, Ueshiba Morihei O Sensei, who believed that Aikido is the loving protection of all and everything. We strive to manifest these teachings in our practice, on and off the mat, by promoting harmony, peace, and unity among all beings.
Our Services
We offer comprehensive Aikido training for young people and adults, focusing on the study of physical techniques to resolve conflict effectively without aggression or violence. Our classes and workshops are designed to help students develop their awareness, respect, and gratitude for themselves, their training partners, and the environment. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, our expert instructors will guide you on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Our Community
Our dojo is a vibrant and welcoming community of practitioners who share a passion for Aikido and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and ages, but share a common goal: to cultivate their body, mind, and spirit through the art of Aikido. Join our community and become part of a movement that promotes peace, harmony, and unity among all beings.
Our History
Aikido Center Sacramento has a rich history that dates back to 1995, when our founder, Matt Sensei, embarked on a journey to bring Aikido to Midtown/Downtown Sacramento. From humble beginnings to our current location on 21st Street, we have grown into a thriving community of over 80 full-time training students. Our dojo is a sacred space where individuals can come together to cultivate awareness, respect, and gratitude for themselves and the world around them.
