At Chateau Fontaine, we are a family-owned winery located in the heart of Leelanau County. Our story began in 1989 when Dr. G Stanley Howell from MSU visited our land and was impressed by the topography, slope, and aspect of the land. We planted our first vineyard by hand, and those Chardonnay grapes became the anchor of our vineyards. Today, our farm consists of three distinct vineyards across 75 acres, each with its own carefully selected varietals to maximize the potential of each variety.
