Program and Structure
Cristo Rey (in Milwaukee) is part of a chain of 30 Cristo Rey high schools across the United States. The Milwaukee school, which opened in July 2015, follows the same programs and requirements as the other schools. The school is run by the Jesuits, who are known for their demanding educational approach, similar to that of Jesuit colleges such as Marquette, Notre Dame, and Loyola. The students attend classes four days a week, with longer days than a normal school day, and then work one day a week. This unique approach provides both an academic education and practical work experience.
Success and Statistics
The school has shown remarkable success, with agreements with over 30 companies in the area after just one year. The statistics are impressive, with 85% of Cristo Rey students applying to college and 100% of those accepted. While the statistics for the Milwaukee program are not yet available, they are likely to mirror the nationwide results.
Location
The Milwaukee campus is located in a residential area on the south side of the city.
