Welcome to the Family Karate Center
The Family Karate Center is a value-priced karate school that has been serving the Eugene, OR community for over a decade. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and friendly environment where students of all ages can become highly skilled in karate and self-defense. We believe that martial arts is about more than just physical skills; it's also about building self-esteem and life skills. We want our students to be champions in life!
Our Programs
At the Family Karate Center, we offer a wide variety of classes for students of all ages and skill levels. Our programs include:
- PreKarate: A program designed for children aged 3-5 years old. This program focuses on introducing children to the basic movements and concepts of karate in a fun and engaging way.
- Kinder Karate: A program designed for children aged 5.5-7 years old. This program builds on the foundation established in the PreKarate program and introduces more advanced movements and techniques.
- Homeschool Program: A program designed for homeschooled children of all ages. This program provides a structured physical education option for homeschooled students.
- Family Hour: A program designed for families to train together. This program is a great way for parents and children to bond while learning valuable self-defense skills.
- Introductory Special: A program for new students to try out our karate school. This program includes 8 classes and a karate uniform for $69.00.
- Youth Karate Program: A program designed for children aged 6-11 years old. This program focuses on building physical fitness, discipline, and self-confidence.
- Afterschool Program: A program designed for elementary school students. This program provides safe and structured afterschool care that includes karate instruction, homework help, and fun activities.
- Teen/Adult Program: A program designed for students aged 13 and up. This program focuses on building physical fitness, self-defense skills, and mental discipline.
Instructors
Elida Wagner Stewart Shihan Sensei is the owner and chief instructor at the Family Karate Center. She has a 6th degree black belt in Shudokan Karate-do and has been teaching karate for over 30 years.
Jeff Wagner Sensei, Elida's brother, is a third degree black belt and has been teaching for more than 12 years. He has a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Studies from Eugene Bible College.
Our Facility
The Family Karate Center is located at 577 River Road in a 5300 square foot building. We have plenty of parking and the entrance is on the backside of the building. Our state-of-the-art training facility includes a spacious mat area, heavy bags, and training equipment.
Schedule
We offer a variety of classes throughout the week to accommodate our students' busy schedules. Our class schedule is available on our website and is updated regularly.
