At Koresh Dance Company, we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving our community and enriching the cultural landscape through the art of dance. We serve our mission in three ways: Performance, Outreach, and Education. As a fully dedicated organization, we have been hailed internationally, touring to destinations including Spain, Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Mexico, and Guatemala.
Our Mission
The Koresh Dance Company is fully dedicated to the enrichment of the cultural landscape and artistic reputation of Philadelphia. It is important to us to sustain a group of dancers and an administrative staff on salary, so that we can fully dedicate ourselves to our mission. Our goal is to provide a platform for talented dancers to showcase their skills and artistry, while also giving back to the community through outreach programs and educational initiatives.
Our History
Koresh Dance Company was founded in 1991 by Israeli-born choreographer and artistic director Ronen (Roni) Koresh. Known for its engaging performance and technically superb dancers, the company performs critically acclaimed works at its biannual Philadelphia seasons, as well as in touring performances around the country. Over the years, Roni has developed a vast repertoire of work that ranges from explosive and passionate to intimate and restrained. The company also presents work by guest choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Robert Battle, Donald Byrd, Itzik Galili, and Paul Selwyn Norton.

We offer a range of services, including performances, outreach programs, and educational initiatives. Our performances are critically acclaimed and feature a technically superb dance company. Our outreach programs aim to give back to the community by providing dance classes and workshops to underprivileged groups. Our educational initiatives include dance classes and workshops for students of all ages and skill levels. We also offer virtual programs, including intimate glance-live with Koresh dancers, conversations with Roni Koresh, and celebrating 30 years-all access short films.

Our artistic director, Ronen Koresh, is a choreographer, teacher, and collaborator whose unique blend of ballet, modern, and jazz leaves audiences dazzled by the raw passion that is infused into his movement. Our staff includes experienced administrators, marketers, and outreach directors who work tirelessly to promote the company and provide services to the community. Our board of directors is comprised of respected individuals in the community who provide guidance and support to the company.
