At ZinAlley Winery, we are passionate about crafting exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of our vineyard. Our winery is nestled in the heart of the Central Coast's Templeton Gap, where the perfect blend of climate, soil, and terrain come together to produce some of the world's finest Zinfandels.
Our Story
Our story began when Frank Nerelli and his wife Connie purchased the property from his uncle, Victor Pesenti, in the early 1970s. With a rich family heritage in winemaking, Frank followed in the footsteps of his father, Aldo Nerelli, and grandfather, Frank Pesenti, to create award-winning Zinfandels. Today, we pride ourselves on being a small, family-owned and operated winery that produces no more than 500 cases of wine per year.
Our Vineyard
Our vineyard is situated on a picturesque estate with rolling hills, Linne Calodo soil, and a south-west exposure that ensures full sun during the day. The gently sloping hills of calcareous shale and adobe soil are reminiscent of the south of France, providing excellent drainage and ideal growing conditions for our dry-farmed, head-pruned vines. The afternoon coastal breezes temper the extreme summer heat, allowing our grapes to ripen slowly and evenly.
Our Wines
We offer a range of exceptional wines, including our flagship Zinfandel, as well as a Zinfandel Port. Our wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on our small Nerelli estate, where we combine traditional winemaking techniques with modern technology to produce complex, full-bodied wines that showcase the unique characteristics of our vineyard.
