Course Conditions and Maintenance
The course conditions and maintenance are areas of concern for some reviewers. Patrick Kelly mentions that the course was in "ok shape" and that people don't rake the sand traps, leaving them unfilled. Robert Dudik notes that the course was in significantly worse shape than he remembered, with beat-up tee boxes and bad spots on the fairways. Mike Jerman also expresses his frustration with the lack of attention to detail, mentioning weeds and unkempt bunkers.
Pace of Play
Pace of play has been an issue for some reviewers. Robert Dudik mentions that there was no starter for a 2pm tee time, leading to a backed-up pace. Patrick Kelly notes that they saw the cart girl three times during their 9-hole round, which was a plus.
Staff and Service
On the other hand, the staff and service have received high praise from many reviewers. Patrick Kelly mentions that the staff was "amazing" in the pro shop. Shane Hipps notes that the service was "top-notch" from every single employee they encountered. Sammy Knoxville specifically mentions Gabby and Avery as being exceptional.
Value and Pricing
Some reviewers have expressed concerns about the pricing, with Robert Dudik noting that prices have been "jacked up" significantly since his last visit. Mike Jerman also expresses frustration with the pricing, mentioning that it's getting tougher to justify $75-$90 for a round with the current course conditions.
Overall Experience
Despite some concerns, many reviewers have had a positive overall experience at Westchase Golf Course. Shane Hipps mentions that the course was in great condition, with fast but not overly fast greens. Brigitte Irish notes that the course was in excellent condition and was a great value for the price. Sela C. recommends playing a round if you're in the area, despite some slower pace of play on weekends.
