Our Story
At PCT Ginseng & Herbs, we have a rich history that spans over 25 years of providing the highest quality ginseng, herbal dietary supplements, and health products to our customers. Our story began in the early 1990s, when a group of entrepreneurs founded Rameda Enterprises Inc. in Los Angeles as an international business venture focused on the import and export of goods between Asia and North America.
From Import to Retail
Initially, the company focused on importing and wholesaling Chinese herbs to the United States. However, in 1992, our group acquired Var On Ginseng Inc. and decided to expand our business into the retail sector. Our first PCT Ginseng & Herbs store was established in Alhambra, California, where we began selling the highest quality ginseng, Chinese herbs, and health products.
Expansion and Growth
Over the years, we have expanded our operations and opened locations throughout California, including Milpitas, San Jose, Rowland Heights, Westminster, Monterey Park, Arcadia, and our flagship store in Downtown Los Angeles' Chinatown. Our Downtown Los Angeles location has remained open for over two decades, catering to customers from all over the world.

Employee Behavior and Customer Service
Some customers have had mixed experiences with the employees at this shop. Ray Heolkhj, a 1-star reviewer, had a negative encounter with an old employee who was rude and dismissive. This employee ignored questions and seemed uninterested in helping the customer. On the other hand, multiple customers have had excellent experiences with Andy, who is described as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to assist customers and made them feel welcome and appreciated.
Product Knowledge and Availability
The shop seems to carry a wide range of medicinal herbs and products. Jeremy Garcia, a 5-star reviewer, appreciated the variety of products available and the employee's ability to find exactly what he needed. Katie, another 5-star reviewer, was impressed by the free consultations offered by the shop and the employee's extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine.
Lack of English Visibility
Ray Heolkhj mentioned that some products had no English labels, which made it difficult for him to understand what they were. This could be a problem for customers who don't speak Chinese or other languages.
