League Structure and Organization
The Austin Men's Soccer Association (AMSA) is a well-organized league with a wide range of skill levels and a promotion/relegation structure. It features multiple divisions, including over 30 and over 40 leagues, and offers a good range of clubs to choose from.
Fields and Facilities
The league uses various fields, including the Onion Creek Soccer Complex, which is considered a great facility with wonderful fields. However, some fields, such as NEMP and EMP, are not as well-maintained and are described as "cow pastures."
Competition and Refereeing
The league offers a good level of competition, with some highly skilled teams. However, some referees have been criticized for their performance, with some games getting "chippy" and referees sometimes failing to recognize and correct problems.
Leadership and Management
The league is professionally managed, with a diverse and experienced leadership committee that represents the entire league. The committee includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Senior Commissioner, and the commissioner of each division.
Overall Experience
Many players have had positive experiences playing in the league, citing the good level of competition, well-maintained fields, and professional management. However, some have criticized the league's bureaucracy and refereeing issues.
