At Challenger Sports, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of services and products to cater to the diverse needs of players, coaches, parents, and administrators involved in the game. With a rich history dating back to 1985, we have evolved into a leading provider of soccer camps, services, and products, offering a Total Soccer Solution.

Our Story

Challenger Sports was founded by Ron Matsch in 1985 as All American Indoor Sports in Lenexa, Kansas. The company began running summer soccer camps staffed primarily by British coaches. Over the years, our team has continued to grow, and we have expanded our services to cater to the needs of our customers. In 1997, Challenger Sports was formed with a mission to increase the number of British Soccer campers while offering complimentary soccer services.

Our History

Our journey has been marked by significant milestones. In 2000, we expanded our summer camps to a 10-month "Academy" program, utilizing British coaches from February to November across the country. We continued to grow, and by 2009, our camps had grown to over 100,000 campers in the summer, with our tournaments increasing to 8 events in the Kansas City area. We also started working with hundreds of clubs across the country through our Academy and Tours programs.

In the 2010s, we experienced significant growth, with over 115,000 summer campers, 12 tournaments, and over 200 club trainers in our Academy program. We also launched our UK franchise division, focusing on teaching young children (TinyTykes) and goalkeepers (GK Icon). Our apparel sales continued to grow, and we started distributing Under Armour.

Today

Today, Challenger Sports is proud to be a leading provider of soccer camps, services, and products. We have rebranded our camps as International Camps to reflect the growth of North American-based coaches and the increasing difficulty of using foreign coaches due to visa restrictions. We have also established our Study and Play Abroad program. Our apparel sales continue to grow, and we now distribute Adidas.

Partnerships and Achievements

We continue to partner with leading organizations to further our mission. In 2020, we partnered with TopYa, a technology company, to create a range of digital solutions to support our various programs. We have also collaborated with Integrity over Income to further our understanding of the financial literacy of our coaches and players.
