Experience the Elevated Dining Experience

Located in the heart of Sanford, Florida, The Old Jailhouse Kitchen & Spirits is a unique dining experience that combines historic charm with modern luxury. Our restaurant is situated in a beautifully preserved 19th-century jailhouse, which has been meticulously restored to maintain its original character while still offering a contemporary twist.

Our Story

Our story began over 130 years ago when the building was first constructed in 1890 by William J. Hill, the first building supply operator in Sanford. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, including a blacksmith and wagon shop, a livery feed and sales stable, and even a county jail. In 1959, the building was repurposed as the Seminole County Health Department, and later it was a dry cleaners. After decades of sitting vacant, the building was purchased in 2017 and underwent a massive renovation to restore its original grandeur.

Stepping into our restaurant is like taking a step back in time. The historic brick walls, ornate cornices, and original entry doors are a testament to the building's rich history.
