Our History

Trinity Counseling was incorporated in July 2000 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our founder, Fr. Don Richards, responded to a vital need for healing and counseling in Birmingham and surrounding localities. Our mission is to "bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and to release from darkness." We believe that counseling is a vital part of the healing process and that it should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

FAQs

We understand that seeking counseling can be a daunting experience, and we want to make sure that our clients feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. Below are some frequently asked questions that we hope will help address any concerns you may have:

  • Q: What are your hours of operation? A: Individual clinician hours vary, but the office hours of the administrative staff are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Q: How do I make an appointment? A: Please call during office hours and one of our administrative staff will assist you in setting up appointments and answering any questions you may have.
  • Q: Do you file insurance? A: Under most circumstances, we do not file an insurance claim form for you. Clients are expected to pay the full amount at the end of each session; however, if requested, we will give you a superbill, which if you wish, you may submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement varies according to your insurance contract.
  • Q: Do you offer a sliding scale fee? A: Yes. This fee adjustment is based upon the individual's financial need and the funding raised by Trinity's donors. If you are interested in an adjusted fee, we ask that you complete a Financial Disclosure Form which will be reviewed by the Clinic Director to determine whether you qualify for an adjusted fee and the amount of that adjustment.

At Trinity Counseling, we are committed to providing high-quality services to our clients, and we are dedicated to making sure that our services are accessible to everyone. We believe that counseling is a powerful tool for personal growth and healing, and we are honored to be a part of your journey towards wholeness.
