Our journey began with the founding of India's Oven in 1981, a restaurant that held a special place in the hearts of its owners, Nasir Syed and Badrul Alam Chowdhury. As brother-in-laws and business partners, they combined their passion for Indian cuisine and dedication to their craft to create a culinary experience like no other.

Our Story

Nasir Syed's journey to Los Angeles began with a move to the United States from Bangladesh in the early 2000s. Syed's career in the restaurant industry spanned decades, with a stint as a manager at India's Oven. This experience laid the foundation for Cardamom, a restaurant that would serve as a culmination of his dreams and family's legacy.

Badrul Alam Chowdhury, on the other hand, brings his expertise as a skilled chef and restaurateur. With years of experience in the kitchen and a passion for innovation, Chowdhury is the driving force behind Cardamom's culinary vision. His dedication to creating a menu that celebrates the rich flavors of India makes every dish a sensory experience.

But Cardamom is more than just a restaurant - it's a family affair. Syed's uncle, Consulting Executive Chef Manju Choudhury, one of the most successful Indian restaurateurs in London, lends his expertise to the culinary team. With a portfolio that spans the popular Haweli chain and Mumbai 2 Go, Choudhury's passion for innovative Indian cuisine is a driving force behind Cardamom's menu.
