Welcome to Shelby deBruyn Counseling, a mental health practice providing exceptional individual psychotherapy services to adults 18 and older residing in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our mission is to offer a safe, compassionate, and empowering therapeutic environment where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive.

As a licensed clinical social worker, I, Shelby, bring over a decade of experience in providing psychotherapy and supportive services to various populations. My passion for social justice and commitment to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of ethics guide my work. My expertise spans a range of treatment techniques, including mindfulness-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and somatic techniques.

At Shelby deBruyn Counseling, we recognize that seeking mental health support can be a daunting experience. Our practice is designed to prioritize your comfort, addressing your specific needs, and creating a collaborative environment to achieve your goals. In our initial sessions, we will work together to understand what brings you to therapy and explore the ways in which we can work together to create lasting change.

Therapy Process

The therapy process at Shelby deBruyn Counseling begins with a commitment to understanding your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Our first few sessions will focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and gaining insight into the factors driving your desire for therapy. Together, we will identify the most pressing concerns and develop a personalized plan to address them.

Forms and Client Portal

Before our first appointment, you will receive an email with a link to our client portal, where you will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire, review and acknowledge our office policies, and complete your client profile. Please note that there is no elevator or stair-lift access to our office. Ample free parking is available behind our building.

Services and Insurance

We strive to make our services accessible to everyone. Our rates are as follows: $150 for the initial diagnostic session and $135 for ongoing 53-minute sessions. We are an in-network provider for the following insurances: Cigna, Aetna, Anthem BC/BS, Optum/Harvard Pilgrim, UnitedHealthcare/UBH. Private pay full rate and sliding scale options are also available. Major credit cards and flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are accepted. A Good Faith Estimate for the cost of services may be provided prior to the first appointment.
