You Deserve to Feel Good Every Day!
I am a New York state-licensed Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in private practice, providing both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. My extensive career has allowed me the privilege of supporting numerous clients in developing tools that bring balance and joy into their lives through stronger relationships, a sense of autonomy, and freedom from anxiety, depression, and mood swings. I blend a depth of medical knowledge with a professional, warm, and personable style in service to all who walk through my door. I am proud to be told that finding a good therapist who is also a skilled and experienced prescriber of medication is not an easy task, and I strive to fulfill both roles to the best of my abilities.
My Medication Philosophy
I understand that the decision to incorporate psychiatric medication into your treatment plan can be a difficult one. My philosophy is to use medication as a tool to alleviate emotional and physical pain, in conjunction with psychotherapy when appropriate. I believe that medication should be a complement to the therapeutic process, and I work with my clients to ensure that they feel comfortable and informed about their treatment options. I am a conservative prescriber who takes the time to listen to my clients' concerns and carefully monitors for side effects.
Testimonials
"Kyra is the kindest and most empathetic practitioner I've seen for medication management. She listens carefully and takes your concerns seriously. I was so happy to find someone who was conservative with medication and who believed me when I reported side effects. When I met her, I felt comfortable instantly. I feel she values me as a client and is proud of me for the progress I've made. I would recommend her without hesitation." - Joyce N.
"I initially came to Kyra for a simple dose change as my PCP suggested I see a specialist to review my medication dosage. I quickly found that Kyra is amazing. I am so grateful to have found such a kind, knowledgeable and understanding provider. She not only corrected my original medication so that I finally began seeing improvement, but she uncovered and treated a diagnosis that went unknown and untreated for years. My life is completely changed from that first visit and I will continue to see Kyra, as I very much trust her knowledge and medical opinion." - Rachel P.
