IDC was officially incorporated in 1983 by founder Woody Dillard, who gained extensive experience in the hangar door industry throughout the 1970s. Woody's journey began as a partner in Dillard Door and Specialty Company in Memphis, followed by his role as co-founder of National Door Service, Inc. in Baltimore. In 1983, Woody founded IDC with a small team, but despite initial resistance from established hangar door manufacturers, IDC persisted and quickly earned a reputation for delivering quality products and services.

Today, we have over 65 employees and a 72,000 square foot manufacturing facility where we construct our doors. We take pride in providing superior quality hangar doors and blast doors from design through finished installation. However, it's not just our state-of-the-art shop and equipment that make this possible; our dedicated employees are the true driving force behind our success. We still have team members today who started working with us in 1983, with an average tenure of over 15 years. The combined design, manufacturing, and installation experience offered by IDC is unparalleled in the industry, allowing us to continue providing the excellence that has become our hallmark.
