The Karen Bernard School of Dance is a family-based business that has been providing exceptional dance education and training in Winchester, MA for over 30 years. We are committed to the belief that every child deserves to pursue their natural interest in dance in a way that is enjoyable yet challenging. Our expertly trained faculty is dedicated to teaching our students with enthusiastic and creative quality training, with careful discipline and attention to individual student needs.

Philosophy

At the Karen Bernard School of Dance, our primary goal is to provide children with the best dance experience possible. We believe that every child deserves to develop a life-lasting love for dance. Our dance program emphasizes the importance of dance technique and terminology while building confidence, reaching goals, and establishing self-esteem. We strive to encourage our students to reach their fullest potential while learning to love and respect the art of dance.

Dance Programs

We offer a diverse range of dance programs to cater to both the pre-professional dancer and the recreational dancer. Our classes are designed to be fun, while also providing a structured and educational environment. Our programs include:

• Happy Feet (3-5 years): An introduction to ballet and tap technique encouraging the child's natural interest in music and movement.
• TriStar (Grade K+): Our most popular class! Our TriStar program offers all students, both recreational and accelerated, an opportunity to study three dance disciplines; ballet, tap, and jazz, all on the same day.
• Hip Hop: A high-energy class focusing on popular music and dance styles.
• Modern/Lyrical: A class that combines elements of modern and lyrical dance techniques to create a beautiful and expressive dance style.

Faculty

Our faculty is comprised of experienced professionals with a passion for teaching and dance. Our directors, Karen and Kailene, have extensive training and experience in the dance industry. Our instructors are all experts in their respective dance styles and are dedicated to providing a positive and supportive learning environment for our students.
