Houston Basketball Academy

At Houston Basketball Academy, "A Different Breed" is more than just a slogan; it's our mission. Our objective is to make a positive impact on anyone who sets foot in our gym. Every person has the potential to become "A Different Breed" and achieve their dreams; it's all about unlocking that potential. We aim to benefit any beginner, experienced, or advanced athlete by improving their skills, athleticism, confidence, toughness, social skills, or their love for the game.

The Founders

*Zach Jones, Co-Founder/Head Trainer*

Zach Jones, a highly experienced high school teacher and basketball coach, leads the Houston Basketball Academy team. A former associate head basketball coach at Tomball High School and head basketball coach at Woodland Acres Middle School, he has been involved in various camps and basketball clinics. Zach has trained basketball players from beginning stages to professional levels. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in History with a minor in Spanish from the University of Houston.

*Cody Stiff, Co-Founder/Head Trainer*

Cody Stiff, another experienced high school teacher and associate head basketball coach, has worked at numerous schools in the Houston area, including Stratford High School and Brenham High School. He has attended multiple coaching and basketball clinics and worked at several camps. Cody played high school basketball at Cy Ranch High School, where he was selected as a member of the Texas Academic All-State Team. He went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology.

Houston Basketball Academy is a basketball skills development center that maximizes the potential of basketball players of all ages, genders, positions, and talent levels. Our training services include:

We offer tailored training sessions, group sessions, and basketball camps designed for athletes to grow their basketball skills and overall personal growth. Our internship program provides opportunities for individuals interested in basketball coaching to learn from experienced coaches and trainers.

Regardless of age or experience, our mission is to positively impact athletes both on and off the court. At Houston Basketball Academy, we offer an immersive experience that fosters skill development, athleticism, mental toughness, and confidence.

Facility and Location

Our first-class basketball training center is located in Cypress, Texas. We welcome players from across the greater Houston area and beyond. For players who are interested but cannot make it to our facility, we offer online training resources and access to professional coaching expertise.
