Giacomo's Italian Restaurant has a rich history that dates back to the early days of Italian immigration to the United States. Founded by Giacomo, who arrived in Queens, New York, and later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he opened his first restaurant in partnership with Carlo's Italian Restaurant. Over the years, Giacomo's passion for cooking and running a restaurant has been a driving force behind the success of his establishments. He was joined by Salvatore Illiano, who brought his own culinary expertise from Torregaveta, Italy, to Charlotte. Together, they created a haven for Italian food lovers in the heart of Charlotte.

These values are reflected in every dish served and every interaction with customers. Our Story

Giacomo's journey began in Queens, New York, where he spent five years honing his culinary skills before being given the opportunity to start his own restaurant in Charlotte. After years of hard work and dedication, Giacomo's Italian Restaurant became a reality, thanks to the partnership with Carlo's Italian Restaurant. Throughout his twenty-two years in Charlotte, Giacomo and his partners have had several restaurants, each one a testament to their passion for Italian cuisine and hospitality.

Salvatore Illiano, a fellow immigrant from Torregaveta, Italy, joined Giacomo's in the early days, bringing his own unique culinary style and expertise. Together, they created a culinary experience that would become synonymous with Italian food in Charlotte. Giacomo's retirement in 2012 marked a new chapter for the restaurant, with Salvatore and his family taking the reins and continuing to build on the foundation laid by Giacomo.
