Cruise Control Driving School

Cruise Control Driving School is an esteemed and independent state-certified driving school that has been providing excellent driving instruction for over 20 years. Our driving school specializes in providing driving lessons for all ages, and we excel in offering the state-certified driving course for 15- and 16-year-olds to receive their provisional/conditional driver's license. We are proud to offer a complete course that includes the SC State Driving Test administered by one of our certified instructors. Our course enables drivers aged 15 to 24 to eligible for insurance premium discounts up to 10% by providing a copy of the course completion certificate to their insurance company.

Meet Our Owners

Our owners, Kent Lee and Jeff Porter, are local area residents and retired Air Force and airline pilots. With their vast experience in handling vehicles, they have become certified driving instructors. Most of our instructors are certified by the state to provide the South Carolina Road Test. We take pride in our team of certified and competent instructors committed to providing top-notch driving instruction to all students.

Our Services

At Cruise Control Driving School, we offer a wide range of driving services designed to cater to the needs of all our students. Our services include:

• State-Certified Driving Course for 15- and 16-Year-Olds: Our comprehensive course for 15- and 16-year-olds covers all the requirements for obtaining a provisional/conditional driver's license. Our course includes both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel (BTW) driving instruction.
• SC State Driving Test: Our course includes the SC State Driving Test administered by our certified instructors, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for the actual test.
• Insurance Premium Discounts: Our driving course is designed to qualify drivers between 15 and 24 for insurance premium discounts up to 10%. By providing a copy of the course completion certificate to their insurance company, our students can reap the benefits of the discount.
• Classroom Instruction: Our classroom instruction covers all the necessary requirements for drivers' education, including traffic rules, road safety, and defensive driving skills. Our classroom sessions are currently offered online, providing flexibility and convenience to our students.
• Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Instruction: Our BTW instruction entails six hours of driving lessons, spread over three two-hour sessions or four one-and-a-half-hour lessons. We offer free pick-up and drop-off services within a limited radius of our location, providing added convenience to our students.
• Individual Driving Lessons: We offer individual hourly instruction for those adults just learning to drive or for those "full course" students who wish to receive additional lessons beyond their original six hours BTW.

At Cruise Control Driving School, we use the Kia Forte and Nissan Sentra for our driving instruction. These vehicles have automatic transmissions and are specially equipped with dual-brake assemblies and rearview mirrors on the passenger side, ensuring that our students receive the best possible driving instruction.
