Modeling, Living of Character Education

At Children's Character Club, we are passionate about providing a nurturing environment where children can grow and develop. Our journey began as an in-home daycare in 1996, which eventually outgrew our space. With a deep desire to serve more children and a strong foundation in education and experience, we opened our doors on February 20, 2002. Mick, with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Business, and Trena, with dual degrees in Elementary and Special Education, bring a unique blend of skills and dedication to our mission.

Our Programs

Our toddler class is licensed to serve 14 children between the ages of 12-30 months. We divide the day into structured activities for an "older" group and a "younger" group, focusing on pre-academic opportunities, language development, and motor skills. We also prioritize potty training when we see readiness signs. Our philosophy is centered around character education, inclusivity, and honoring each child's uniqueness.

Our Philosophy

As parents ourselves, we understand the diversity of gifts and talents in children. Our experience with our own children, ranging from diagnosed disabilities to giftedness, has shaped our approach. We emphasize the importance of nature, recycling, and sustainability, incorporating classroom pets, gardening, and cooking from scratch. Our dedication to quality learning environments has earned us a 3-star rating from Early Achievers, Washington State's Quality Rating System. We believe in providing a basic structure while rotating activities based on children's interests, incorporating Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches, and using character education and Love and Logic philosophies for behavior management.
