Our Story

Nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania's picturesque Susquehanna River Valley, Fero Vineyards & Winery stands as a testament to the passion for quality craftsmanship and the love for the land. Founded in 2004 by Chuck and Daneen Zaleski, Fero emerged from a desire to transform a portion of their 1812 family farm into a haven for wine lovers. Their vision was to meticulously cultivate estate-grown grapes, employing time-honored winemaking techniques to craft exceptional wines that truly reflect the unique terroir of their location.

The story of Fero is deeply interwoven with the revitalization of Pennsylvania's winemaking tradition. Years of meticulous research and experimentation led to the establishment of a 13.5-acre vineyard planted with fourteen thousand meticulously chosen vines. These vines are a testament to their commitment to success, showcasing an array of old-world varieties that have thrived in the unique microclimate of Central Pennsylvania, proving that the heartland of America can yield wines of exceptional character.

The tasting room at Fero Vineyards & Winery is a celebration of their diverse wine portfolio, featuring over twenty distinct varieties, each handcrafted with care. Their winemaker, Chuck Zaleski, oversees every stage of the winemaking process, ensuring that each bottle delivers a truly memorable sensory experience.

The winery's selection encompasses a spectrum of styles, from crisp and refreshing dry whites like the Gruner Veltliner and Dry Riesling to bold and flavorful dry reds like the Estate Pinot Noir, Estate Lemberger, and the crowd-pleasing Ray Bucknell!1812. The inclusion of unique varieties like the Saperavi and the Bison Roots Blue line further emphasizes their dedication to showcasing the diversity and potential of Pennsylvania's vineyards.
