Mission & Values

The Dahlgren Yacht Club (DYC) fosters a strong sense of community and camaraderie among boating enthusiasts in the Dahlgren area. We prioritize inclusivity, encouraging participation in a welcoming and supportive environment. Through organized events, social gatherings, and educational workshops, we aim to cultivate an enriching and enriching experience for all members.

Who We Are

The DYC is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization accessible to active-duty military personnel, retirees, Department of Defense civilians, and eligible family members. We operate under the Naval Support Facility (NSF) in Dahlgren, Virginia, and maintain a diverse fleet of sailboats for member use.

Our Facilities & Services

The DYC offers a range of facilities and services to cater to various boating needs:

• Modern Dockhouse: Provides bathrooms, showers, an ice machine, and a spacious meeting room.
• Boat Ramp: Facilitates easy access to the pristine waters of Machodoc Creek.
• Slip Facilities: Approximately 60 wet slips and 15 dry slips are available for member boats.
• Marina Amenities: Access to pumpouts, potable water, and trash disposal stations.

Activities & Events

DYC hosts regular social events and organized races, catering to both seasoned sailors and beginners. Our activities include:

• Weekly sailboat races: Open to all members, fostering friendly competition and skill development.
• Social gatherings: Monthly potlucks, themed events, and festive celebrations.
• Educational workshops: Learn about boat handling, sail trimming, and safety procedures.
