Childworks Preschool

Childworks Preschool, located in the Lansdale area, is an independent private preschool that has been providing high-quality early childhood education to children aged two to six years old since 1992. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and have gone above and beyond state licensing requirements by achieving PA Keystone STAR 4 and maintaining NAEYC Accreditation since 2005. Our teaching staff is highly qualified, credentialed, and has clearances to adhere to state licensing requirements.

A Safe and Nurturing Environment

At Childworks Preschool, we prioritize creating a safe and nurturing environment that allows optimal learning to take place. Our facility was architecturally designed to create a child-friendly environment with bright, colorful, spacious areas, security, and safety in mind. The facility features an indoor gym area, two different age-appropriate outdoor playgrounds, and four color-coded classrooms with parent-viewing windows. Our facility design is reminiscent of an old-fashioned schoolhouse with low-set windows, cathedral ceilings, a soaring cupola, and vivid outdoor colors that create an engaging and stimulating learning environment.

Flexible Scheduling and Curriculum

We offer flexible scheduling of days for preschool, providing parents with the option to choose the days that work best for their family. Our curriculum is child-centered and emergent, with a choice of programs geared to the developmental age of the child. Our curriculum builds on skills the child has and is constantly changing to add new information and experiences. Our classroom equipment is rotated to relate to the current curriculum topic, the interests, and skill level of the child. The daily routine includes activities appropriate for the child's developmental age group, such as circle time, music, fine motor activities, sensory, varied art mediums, blocks, science materials, easel painting, language development, socialization, math and reading readiness games, and outdoor play.

Parental Involvement

Parents are welcome at any time to observe or actively take part in the classroom. Monthly meetings, conferences with teachers, newsletters, and classroom visits keep parents informed and involved in their child's early childhood education. We believe that open communication between home and school is essential, and parents are encouraged to provide information about their child's home experiences upon admission and throughout their years at Childworks. Our professional staff is always available for parents' questions and comments.

Our Philosophy

At Childworks Preschool, we believe that children explore the space around them, which has been structured for optimal learning experiences. Our individual approach to learning ensures that the child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs are met. We recognize that the child's natural love of learning is shown in their play and that play helps the child to learn new skills, problem-solve, and improve social skills. Our programs are designed to foster creativity and nurture the development of each individual.

Our Staff

Our staff members are professionally trained and experienced early childhood educators who are American Heart Association certified in first aid and CPR. We have specialists in music, art, science, and other areas who are on staff or consultants to our programs. Our founding owner/director, Judi Clyman, has Pennsylvania certification in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special education and a master's degree in education with a certificate in autism and the PA Director's Credential.
