Moravian Falls Campground

We are delighted to welcome campers and visitors to our unique and spiritual family camping experience, nestled in the tranquil sounds of Moravian Creek and the stunning Moravian Falls waterfall. Our waterfall is a sight to behold, standing at 60 ft tall with two levels, and spanning 50 ft wide. It is truly a marvel of nature that will take your breath away.

Our Campground & Services

At Moravian Falls Family Campground & Cabin Rentals, we offer a range of services to ensure that your stay with us is comfortable, memorable, and inspiring. We have hot showers, full hookups, pull throughs, tent sites, a large fishing pond, and a camp store. We welcome pets with RV campers only.

We also offer two "Spiritually Inspired" lodgings, The Villa and The Cabin, located just a short distance from the waterfall and our office. These accommodations allow you to enjoy the peaceful and soothing sounds of nature, and the year-round beauty of the area.

Please note that if you are not staying at The Villa or The Cabin, you will need to stop by our office, the long tan building across the road from the waterfall, for permission to access the waterfall area during your visit. There is a $5 fee for use of the picnic area, and only the left side of the falls is available to the public for photos, viewing, and picnics. Parking is available in front of the office building only.

History & Location

The township of Moravian Falls takes its name from this waterfall, located in the foothills of the Brushy Mountains. The area was originally settled by members of the Moravian Church in 1753, and Moravians owned the waterfall for many years. Today, the waterfall is a tourist attraction, owned by Ken and Anita Wike, who operate this history-rich family campground.

People travel from all over the U.S. and many other countries to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the waterfall and its surrounding nature. During the Merlefest Festival held each April in Wilkesboro, our campground is full to overflowing with campers enjoying a wonderful time of fellowship, often around a roaring campfire near the Moravian Creek that feeds the waterfall.

In addition to our campsites and lodgings, we offer a variety of amenities and activities for our guests to enjoy. The Villa and The Cabin offer beautiful and pleasant decor with wifi, providing a relaxing and unwinding experience. The whole area is beautiful and serene, making it an ideal place to picnic or to fish in the large Fishing Pond.
