Founded in 1980 by Marcel Pitz, Dizz's As Is has been a Laguna Beach staple for over 42 years. Born in Belgium, Marcel's passion for cooking was nurtured in the esteemed Liege Culinary School. His father, Richard Pitz, a renowned pastry chef, was Marcel's inspiration and mentor. Today, Dizz's As Is remains a family-owned and operated business, with Marcel and his family dedicated to serving the highest quality cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Sunday is a special day at Dizz's As Is, as we host our popular Vic Beach Grill. Join us from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm and indulge in a sumptuous brunch spread, complete with delectable dishes, fresh juices, and a glass of champagne. It's the perfect way to unwind and soak up the warm California sun.

A History Rich in Flavor

Marcel's journey to America was marked by a passion for French cuisine and a dash of good fortune. At the time, Newport Meat Company generously lent him a helping hand, providing fresh cuts of meat for his fledgling restaurant. The Pitz family's luck continued when they acquired Dizz's As Is from a couple affected by too many psychedelic experiences, leading to the unique moniker "As Is." Mama Monique's fondness for the eclectic decor and eclectic atmosphere led to the restaurant's current name.
