Argonne Lumber and Supply, Inc. was founded by Allen Keepers in 1980, following a devastating fire that destroyed his family's home. This family-owned business has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading supplier of lumber and building materials in Argonne and Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Allen's vision was to provide quality lumber at reasonable prices, and this commitment has been the cornerstone of the company's success.

Starting in a machine shed on his father's farm, Allen began purchasing lumber and selling it to contractors and DIY enthusiasts. Over the years, the business expanded, and Allen built his first main building in 1984. Today, the Argonne lumberyard comprises over 11 buildings, including an office, hardware store, and showroom. The company also has a small yard in Rhinelander, which was added in 2009.

Allen's wife, Kim, has been instrumental in developing a line of hardware, kitchen, and bath products, and she serves as the company's bookkeeper. Argonne Lumber offers a wide range of services, including architectural design, estimating, and weekly deliveries to customers within a 50-mile radius. The company prides itself on its personalized customer service, with many employees being part of the family.

One of the most gratifying aspects of the business for Allen is the friendships he has developed with contractors. Many of the original customers have retired but still visit the store, reminiscing about the good old days and the quality of the lumber. Today, Argonne Lumber & Supply, Inc. continues to thrive, committed to providing the highest quality products and exceptional service to its customers.
