J. Rickards Winery

We are a family-run operation of both wine grape farming and wine production, located at the northern end of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County. Our vineyards have been planted over the past four decades, with the original 1908 Zinfandel vines still thriving today. Our rustic tasting room, the Darn Fine Brown Barn, offers breathtaking views of the valley and is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a wine tasting.

Our Story

With a passion for sustainable winemaking and a commitment to exceptional quality, we produce a range of varietals that grow especially well on our 60-acre estate. Our focus is on crafting small-batch, handcrafted wines that showcase the unique characteristics of our vineyards. From bold, spicy Zinfandel to the elegant, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon, every wine is carefully crafted to reflect the individuality of our vineyards.

Our Winemaking Team

At the heart of our winemaking operation is our experienced Winemaker, Blaine Brazil. With a Bachelor's Degree in Fruit Science and a minor in Wine and Viticulture, Blaine brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the cellar. He is dedicated to producing high-quality, handcrafted wines that showcase the unique terroir of our vineyards.

Vineyard Team

Our Vineyard Team, led by Juan Ibarra, is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of our vineyards. With over ten years of cellar experience, Juan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the vineyard. His dedication to sustainable viticulture ensures that our vineyards are well-maintained and that our wines consistently reflect the best of our vineyards.

Wine Production

From grape to bottle, every step of our wine production process is carefully controlled to ensure that our wines are of the highest quality. From hand-picking and sorting to fermentation and aging, every step of the process is designed to showcase the unique characteristics of our vineyards.

Visit Us
