Our Founder: Dr. Kimberley Schehrer

Dr. Kimberley Schehrer founded Academy for Independence in 2007. With over two decades of experience in supporting teens, she understands the challenges they face in today's world. Her approach is to empower teens with the tools and self-confidence they need to succeed in school and in life. She is also skilled in fostering a more positive and harmonious relationship between teens and their parents.

1. Learning Quotient Assessment (LQA)

This comprehensive assessment identifies your teen's unique learning preferences and strengths. This knowledge allows us to tailor a learning plan that caters to their individual needs and encourages them to learn more effectively.

2. VIP 1:1 Academic Coaching

This individualized program provides your teen with proven study skills, organizational strategies, and executive function coaching to skyrocket their grades and boost their self-confidence.

3. Jumpstart Executive Functions Live Tutoring Program

This program addresses the challenges of remote and hybrid learning by focusing on organization, time management, and accountability.
