With love and butter, we bring joy to your plate
Welcome to Holly B's Bakery, a beloved institution on Lopez Island that has been serving delectable baked goods to residents and visitors alike since 1976. Our warm and friendly staff are dedicated to making you feel at home, and we take pride in serving up our pastries with generosity and care.
Holly B's Bakery has been a fixture in the Lopez Island community for nearly five decades, and we are proud to continue the tradition of providing delicious, locally-sourced baked goods. In 2016, the bakery passed into the hands of new owners, pastry chef Stephanie Smith and her partner Rory. Under their stewardship, Holly B's Bakery remains committed to providing old favorites while introducing new treats that reflect our commitment to local products and sustainable agriculture.
Our Food
At Holly B's Bakery, we believe that great baking starts with great ingredients. That's why we source as many of our ingredients as possible from local farms and producers. Our island is rich in agricultural history, and we are fortunate to have access to an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables that we incorporate into our baked goods.
In 2017, we began the transition to using flour grown and milled in the Skagit Valley. All of our flour comes from Cairnspring Mills in Burlington, and we are excited to introduce our customers to the nuances of different varieties of wheat while supporting local farmers. You can learn more about the mill and their mission on their website.
Our Location
Holly B's Bakery is located on beautiful Lopez Island, a thriving community that we are proud to be a part of. We are located at 211 Lopez Road, Lopez Island, WA 98261. If you're visiting the island, we encourage you to explore all that Lopez has to offer. Visit the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce website to learn more about the island and how to get here.
Holly B's Cookbook
If you're a fan of Holly B's Bakery, you won't want to miss Holly B's very own cookbook, With Love and Butter: An Island Cookbook and Memoir. This delightful volume tells the story of how Holly Bower and her husband came to fulfill their dream of opening a country bakery, and the history of Lopez Island. Holly generously allows you into her kitchen and home, describing family life, the close community of small island living, and of course, her fabulous recipes that were the staple of her bakery for 39 years.
