Guided by a passionate team of educators and volunteers, GBTLA has nurtured academic potential, supported student success, and fostered a love for learning amongst countless young minds.
Our Journey Begins
Inspired by the need for additional academic support in the community, a group of dedicated individuals within the MU NU Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity established the first Saturday School in 1986. With 21 students and 19 volunteers, the program began its journey at the Housing Opportunities Commission center in Olney, Maryland. Recognizing the transformative potential of early intervention, GBTLA expanded over the years, establishing multiple locations and serving diverse communities across Montgomery County.
