Who We Are

College Park Tutors is a premier tutoring service that connects students at the University of Maryland (UMD) with expert tutors specializing in Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry. Our mission is to provide highly personalized tutoring to students, whether they are passionate about the subject or just need to pass a required course. We pride ourselves on our ability to match students with tutors who have excelled in the specific courses that the students are taking. Our top calculus courses include Math 120, Math 140, and Math 141.

Our physics tutors are veteran tutors who have been through PHYS 161, PHYS 260, and upper-level courses. They are experts in supporting Physics for Biologists (131 and 132) and Physics for Life Sciences as well. At College Park Tutors, we carefully vet all our tutors to ensure that they have the expertise and teaching ability to provide the best possible tutoring experience for our students. Unlike other tutoring services, we never put students into groups - we believe that one-on-one tutoring is the most effective way to learn.

Our tutors are college upperclassmen and graduates with prior experience tutoring calculus, precalculus, statistics, differential equations, linear algebra, and other common classes at UMD. They are knowledgeable in the material and can walk students through it in clear and intelligible language. Our tutors can guide students to understand and retain the concepts that they will need for exams and homework assignments.

How It Works

Setting up your first session with College Park Tutors is easy. All you need to do is submit a request for tutoring, choose your courses, select an individual session or package rate, tell us your availability, and how we can contact you. We have specific tutors who specialize in calculus, physics, differential equations, and statistics. A tutor who best fits your course and schedule will contact you within 24 hours or less to set up an appointment. For in-person sessions, most students and tutors find it convenient to meet on campus, in the EPSL or McKeldin Library. For online tutoring, we typically use Zoom. We are flexible and will do our best to accommodate your needs and meet at other locations or use alternative platforms and technologies to suit your needs!
