The Northeast Youth Center (NEYC) is a nonprofit organization that has been making a difference in the lives of children since 1971. Our mission is to provide at-risk youth with culturally enriching and stimulating educational and recreational opportunities that build self-esteem and teach basic life skills.
Our History
The NEYC was established in 1971 as a program within Spokane Parks and Recreation. Over the years, we have grown to become our own nonprofit organization with a dedicated board of directors. We are state licensed through the Department of Youth Services, providing social and emotional learning, childcare, meals, and transportation to children in our community.
Our Programs
At NEYC, we offer a range of programs designed to promote the well-being and development of children ages 3-12. Our programs include:

Poor Management and Unprofessionalism

Eggleston highlights several instances where the care center failed to communicate with her properly, including a situation where her son was scheduled to attend summer camp, but was informed 14 days prior that the program was full due to losing his enrollment packet, which she had actually turned in. She also mentions that the care center added late charges to her account despite her making timely payments and then had to educate their accountant on how to use Quickbooks.

Eggleston describes multiple incidents where staff members exhibited unprofessional behavior, including a teacher scolding her son publicly on a bus, a janitor smoking outside of a child's workplace, and another janitor making inappropriate comments to a child.
