Who We Are

Rye Presbyterian Nursery School (RPNS) is a non-profit, non-denominational preschool nestled in the heart of Rye, New York. Established in 1959, we are a beloved local institution, nurturing the intellectual and social development of young minds for over six decades. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we foster a vibrant learning environment where children can explore, discover, and become confident individuals.

Our Philosophy

At RPNS, we believe in fostering critical thinking skills through play-based exploration. We prioritize inquiry-based learning, where children drive their own investigations and create meaningful projects based on their curiosities. Our skilled teachers guide and support these explorations, celebrating each child's unique potential.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is carefully crafted to meet the diverse needs of young learners. We offer programs for two, three, four, and five-year-olds, alongside extended day options to accommodate diverse schedules. Each age group has tailored learning goals aligned with the New York State Common Core curriculum.

Our Approach

We believe in fostering a love for exploration and discovery. Our teachers seamlessly integrate learning goals with everyday activities, turning playtime into valuable learning experiences. We encourage open communication, collaboration, and creative expression to nurture the whole child.

Our Team

Our dedicated team of experienced educators comprises caring professionals with deep knowledge in early childhood development. Led by two capable Co-Directors, the team includes passionate teachers, administrative and support staff, and special service professionals.
