At Fremont Aikido Dojo, we are dedicated to promoting the practice and philosophy of Aikido as a means of fostering physical, mental, and spiritual well-being within individuals and communities. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we strive to provide accessible Aikido training, education, and resources to people of all ages and backgrounds, emphasizing principles of harmony, self-discipline, and mutual respect.
Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate a culture of compassion, cooperation, and personal growth, ultimately contributing to a more peaceful and harmonious society. We aim to achieve this by providing a supportive and inclusive environment where students of all levels can learn and grow. Our expert instructors are dedicated to helping students develop their physical, mental, and spiritual abilities through the practice of Aikido.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are experienced and dedicated professionals who are passionate about sharing the benefits of Aikido with our community. They have undergone rigorous training and have achieved high ranks in the art. Our instructors are:
Martin Christensen Sensei
Martin Sensei holds the rank of Godan, fifth degree black belt, and has been teaching Aikido in the Fremont area since 1994. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the mat, and is passionate about helping students understand the concepts of Ki and its application in daily life.
Derek Tokuda Sensei
Derek Sensei holds the rank of Yondan, fourth degree black belt, and has been training in Aikido for over 25 years. He brings a strong foundation in basic fundamental Aikido (kihon waza) to his classes, and is the current President of our board of directors.
Uyen Le Sensei
Uyen Le Sensei holds the rank of Shodan, first degree black belt, and has been training in Aikido for over 15 years. She teaches our Wednesday Children's classes and is well-respected for her firmness and humor.
Stan Chan Sensei
Stan Chan Sensei holds the rank of Sandan, third degree black belt, and has 25 years of martial arts experience. He teaches our adult classes on Thursdays and Saturdays, and is dedicated to the Dojo remaining safe and clean.
Chris Hooper Sensei
Chris Hooper Sensei teaches our Thursday Children and Teens class and holds the rank of Nidan, second degree black belt. He is dedicated to the Dojo and is always willing to lend a helping hand.
Keith Love Sensei
Keith Love Sensei teaches our Tuesday Children and Teens classes and holds the rank of Shodan, first degree black belt. He is the current Vice President of our board of directors and is passionate about sharing the benefits of Aikido with our community.
