The Down East Yacht Club, affectionately known as the "FUN CLUB, " has been a beloved institution in the boating community for over 50 years. Founded in 1966 by a group of yachtsmen at the Boatel Marina (now known as the Tugboat), our club was born out of a desire to create a sense of camaraderie among boaters. With its humble beginnings, the Down East Yacht Club has grown into a vibrant community of passionate boaters who share a love for the Maine coast and all its wonderful offerings.
Our Mission
The purpose of the Down East Yacht Club is to create lasting friendships and share boating knowledge as we participate in coastal Maine boating together. Whether under sail or power, all passionate boaters are welcome to join our ranks. We're proud to have members from all over the country and look forward to welcoming new members to our family.

Dockage and Mooring: Enjoy designated dock space at the Tug Boat Inn in downtown Boothbay Harbor, Maine, as well as access to moorings at various locations along the Maine coast.
Cruises and Events: Join us for our annual summer cruise, featuring week-long adventures exploring the coastal waters of Maine. We also offer 3-day mini cruises, monthly day trips, and raft-ups along the Maine coast.
Social Gatherings: Our full calendar of events includes social gatherings throughout the year, perfect for meeting and mingling with fellow boaters. From summer gatherings to winter gatherings in Maine and Florida, there's always something happening in our club.
