Our mission is to kindle happiness by nurturing all pet owners and styles of pet parenting, by instilling pride in people that cherish the human-animal bond, and by sharing the joy that animals bring to our lives.
Our Experience
Although new to Botetourt County, Dr. Etter and Lisa Powers LVT are no strangers to veterinary medicine. They have worked side by side for 20 years in a small animal practice located in Rocky Mount, Virginia. They anticipate working together and serving together at Bonsack Veterinary Hospital for another couple decades!

At Bonsack Veterinary Hospital, our focus is on your pet and its lifestyle. All recommendations are made tailored to each pet. There is not a one size fits all regimen. We believe in empowering owners to make decisions regarding preventive care, wellness maintenance care, diagnostics, and treatment and or management of illness. Our services include:
- Wellness Care: exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, micro-chipping, nutrition, and dental care
- Diagnostic Services: digital radiology, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and allergy testing
- Surgical Services: spays, neuters, mass removals, soft-tissue trauma repair, hernia repair, and abdominal exploratory
- Senior Care: increased focus early disease detection through age-specific lab work, radiographs, more frequent physical exams, blood pressure monitoring, and prescription diets for age-related disease processes
- Urgent Care: diagnostics and treatments for acute illnesses that arise during business hours
- End of Life Services: supporting families as they say goodbye to a beloved pet, euthanasia with sedation, and cremation options
