Hey there! Here's a glimpse into my journey and the driving force behind my passion for holistic well-being. My path to health has been an ongoing exploration, spanning over more than half my life. At 42, I can honestly say that my experiences have shaped me into the therapist and health coach I am today. Looking back, I vividly remember the struggles I faced in my teenage years with severe anxiety, which manifested as crippling shyness. As I transitioned into college, these anxieties evolved into depression, leading me to adopt unhealthy coping mechanisms to numb the pain.
The turning point came after becoming a mother. Bringing my son into the world was a joyous experience, but it was soon followed by a debilitating illness that persisted for an extended period. I grappled with a myriad of symptoms: migraines, relentless fatigue, nerve pain that radiated through my body, muscle weakness, hair loss, brain fog, and the resurfacing of mental health challenges.
Seeking answers from my primary care physician, I was met with lab results that suggested everything was "fine." My concerns were dismissed, and I was offered medication as a quick fix. This experience ignited a fire within me to understand the intricate connection between my mind, body, and spirit, leading me to embark on a deeper journey of self-discovery and healing.
My Approach: A Holistic Fusion of Therapies
Driven by this profound understanding, I dedicated myself to exploring various therapeutic modalities, ultimately earning my Master's degree in Counseling from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. My 15+ years of experience in the mental health field have solidified my belief in a holistic approach that addresses the multifaceted nature of well-being.
