Who We Are

The Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing playing opportunities for its members ages 8-18. We conduct educational clinics and events, and serve as a junior golf informational clearinghouse. Each year, the IJGA provides and manages over 100 separate events throughout the state of Illinois, including one-day 9-hole and 18-hole tournaments, and 36-hole and 54-hole major championships.

History

Established in 1974, the IJGA has a rich history of supporting junior golf in Illinois. From humble beginnings to the organization we are today, our mission has remained constant: to promote and develop junior golf in Illinois. Over the years, we have seen countless young golfers grow and develop through our programs, many of whom have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.

Board & Staff

Our board and staff are comprised of dedicated golf enthusiasts who are committed to the growth and development of junior golf. With years of experience in the golf industry, they work tirelessly to ensure that every event and program is of the highest quality. Whether it's managing tournaments, providing educational clinics, or advocating for junior golf development, our team is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of young golfers.

Junior Board

We also have a Junior Board made up of young golfers who are passionate about giving back to the sport. They help organize events, promote junior golf, and provide a voice for their peers. This unique aspect of our organization ensures that junior golfers are actively involved in shaping the future of the sport.

Internships

Each year, we offer internship opportunities to students who are interested in gaining experience in event management, marketing, and other aspects of the golf industry. This hands-on experience is invaluable for those looking to pursue a career in golf.
