Welcome to the Bagel Bar Cafe, a family-owned business that has been serving the Kutztown community since 1994. We are famous for our breakfast and lunch "bagelwiches" prepared on one of 25 varieties of authentic New York bagels that are baked fresh every day. Our cafe is not just a place to grab a bite to eat, but also a home away from home where you can relax with friends, enjoy a good book, or work on your laptop while enjoying a great cup of coffee.

Our Services

At the Bagel Bar Cafe, we offer a wide range of services to our customers. Our bagel menu includes a variety of options, from classic flavors like plain and poppyseed to more unique options like sun-dried tomato and jalapeno cheddar. We also offer a variety of toppings, including eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, veggies, cheese, and more. Our lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, and soups, all served on our freshly baked bagels or other bread options.

In addition to our food menu, we also offer a wide selection of hand-crafted barista drinks made from the highest quality espresso beans and machines. We do not use flavor powders or pre-foamed milk, ensuring that every drink is made with perfection in mind. Our coffee menu includes a variety of blends and flavored options, as well as cold brew coffee steeping course, dark coffee grounds in cold water for 24 hours, resulting in a smoother, less acidic drink.

If you're looking to take our delicious bagels and cream cheese to go, we offer a variety of options for pickup or delivery. We also offer gift cards for the perfect gift for any occasion.

If you're craving the delicious flavor and aroma of Bagel Bar Coffee at home, our freshly roasted coffees are also available by the pound, whole bean or ground.

Our Story

The Bagel Bar Cafe was established in 1994 by Christine Kreisher. She started the business on a dare by Bob, a local bike shop owner. Business took off and within a year, The Bagel Bar moved across the street into a larger retail space. Within just two years, lines formed out the door and down the block. It was obvious that an even larger location was needed. In 1997, the business moved into its current location at 214 West Main Street. It was then that Jim, Christine's husband, joined the team and the name was changed to "The Bagel Bar Cafe". The menu was expanded adding a full espresso bar, frozen drink specials, smoothies, muffins, cookies, macarons, bulk coffee beans, and more.
