Our story began in 1988 when proprietors Kenny and Susan Kempton embarked on their restaurant journey with Schnitzels Tavern, offering traditional German fare in a cozy, old-world setting. After a decade of success, the couple faced a significant setback when their location tragically burned down. However, their resilience led them to establish a sandwich and bottle shop near State College, which eventually evolved into the full-scale Olde New York Restaurant & Taproom you see today.
