Our Story
Taco Tontos has been serving up delicious, locally owned, Mexican cuisine for over four decades. Our story began in 1972 with a man named Mike Miller, aka "Tonto, " who ran a small food cart outside a local bar in Kent, Ohio. As our popularity grew, we moved to a closet-sized kitchen located in the basement of The Loft in downtown Kent. Although our menu was small, we made sure to prepare each dish fresh every day and cook each order individually for each customer. It was this commitment to quality and customized service that helped build a loyal customer base.

We're proud to be a locally owned and operated business, with two locations in Kent and Lakewood, Ohio. Our Menu

- Tacos: Not your average taco! Our tacos come one to an order and are made in a jumbo crunchy corn shell or an 8" soft flour tortilla. All tacos come with cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
- Burritos: Customized to order and baked to a crispy perfection. Choose from our El Biggo (12" tortilla) or Regulata (10" tortilla).
- Taco Salads: Meat, beans, or potatoes on a bed of chips with cheese, tomatoes, black olives, onions, and romaine, spinach, kale, or a combo of all three. Served with a side of our special sauce.
- Tostadas: Open-faced 10" tortilla with melted cheese and onions and your choice of delicious filling. Topped with lettuce and tomato. Served with a side of sour cream.
- Extras: Try one of our salsas, guacamole, or queso dip with chips. Customize your meal with items from our list of add-ons, including our awesome specialty sauces.
