Cultivating Hearts, Minds, and Will
At Eastside Community School, we believe that education is a journey, not just a destination. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, supportive, and challenging environment that fosters emotional, social, and academic growth in our students. We strive to inspire a love of learning, a sense of community, and a commitment to social responsibility in every student who walks through our doors.
Our Programs and Curriculum
We offer a range of programs and curricula to meet the unique needs and abilities of our students. From Early Childhood to High School, our programs are designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. We believe in a holistic approach to education, incorporating arts, music, and physical education to provide a well-rounded education.
Our Early Childhood Program is designed for children aged 3 to 6, focusing on play-based learning, social-emotional development, and early literacy and numeracy skills. Our Elementary and Middle School programs cater to students in grades 1 to 8, with a focus on academic rigor, creativity, and extracurricular activities. Our High School program offers a range of courses and electives, preparing students for success in college and beyond.
Admissions Process
We welcome applications from students of all backgrounds and abilities. Our admissions process is designed to be supportive and inclusive, with the goal of ensuring that every student who joins our community is a good fit for our school. Our Admissions Team is available to guide you through the process, which includes:
1. Submit Application Form and Pay Application Fee: We use a web-based system for applications, called TADS.
2. Request Teacher Questionnaire and Transcripts: We require teacher questionnaires and transcripts for all students entering grades 1-8.
3. Family Interview with ECS Faculty: We invite families to meet with our faculty to discuss their child's application and answer any questions.
4. Schedule a Visit (Grades & High School Only): Eligible applicants to grades 2-10 will have an opportunity to schedule a visit and attend classes with their prospective teacher and peers.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
We believe that every child deserves access to a quality education, regardless of economic means. We offer financial aid and scholarships to support families who need assistance with tuition costs. Our Financial Aid Committee assesses each application on a case-by-case basis, considering factors such as family income, assets, and expenses.
Supporting Our School
At Eastside Community School, we believe that education is a community effort. We encourage parents and alumni to volunteer their time, skills, and resources to support our school and programs. We also offer a range of ways to give back, including our Annual Gala and Silent Auction, Scrip Programs, and more.
