We take immense pride in our journey, which began with the dream of Chef Michele Godina, a native of the culinary heart of Liguria, Italy. Having spent his youth surrounded by the tantalizing aromas and tastes of his mother's restaurant, Michele developed a deep appreciation for the art of Italian cooking.

His culinary journey took him from the charming streets of Recco to Miami, Florida, and across the United States, where he honed his skills under the tutelage of seasoned Italian chefs, embracing diverse techniques while staying true to the core principles of Italian cuisine. Settling in Washington state, Michele, along with his wife Jeanette Bastidas, finally realized their dream of opening Piacere Trattoria, a place where they could share their love for Italian food with the community. Every dish at Piacere is a testament to Michele's passion, reflecting his dedication to using the freshest seasonal ingredients and creating dishes that are both authentic and memorable.

Our Chef

Michele Godina, our head chef, embodies the spirit of Piacere Trattoria. Born and raised in Recco, GE, a town renowned for its exquisite focaccia and pesto, Michele's culinary journey began at his mother's restaurant. He immersed himself in the world of Italian cooking, learning traditional recipes and techniques passed down through generations. His formal culinary education at a prestigious culinary school in Italy further solidified his passion and expertise.

After venturing to Miami and exploring different culinary influences across the United States, Michele's culinary expertise broadened significantly. He incorporates these diverse techniques and flavors into his creations, showcasing his commitment to both authenticity and innovation.

His dedication to using high-quality, seasonal ingredients and his unwavering passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience make Michele the heart and soul of Piacere Trattoria.
